What is Graphene Coating
Graphene coating is the latest technology in the family of Ceramic Coatings. Graphene is added to the Ceramic product making it harder than a traditional Ceramic Coating.
Is Graphene coating the same as Ceramic coating
No. A Graphene Coating is simply a Ceramic Coating with the added hardness property benefits of graphene.
- Newer and better #Newer and harder: the addition of graphene increases the hardness of the coating.
- Better hydrophobic properties #Higher contact angle: Graphene has a higher contact angle over Ceramic, therefore offering better hydrophobic capabilities repelling water.
- Less dust #Anti-static: the newer technology has improved its anti-static properties which means less dust will stick.
- Less Water spots #Greater slickness: Less prone to water spots
- Better longevity #Less heat absorption: It has less heat absorption meaning you will get a longer lifetime out of the product.
What benefits does a Graphene coating provide
- Protection #Protect clear coat and plastic trims: It protects the entire exterior (excl glass we offer a different product) with UV Protection, resistance to swirl marks, light scratching, weathering, bird droppings and oxidation.
- Amazing reflection and gloss #Deeper reflection: It provides and amazing deep reflection to the vehicle
- Hyrdophobic #Repels water: It provides hydrophobic properties meaning the water beads straight off keeping the car cleaner for longer
- Anti-static properties #Dust wont stick: Dust wont stick, so the car remains cleaner for longer
- Easy to clean #Dust wont stick: Should the car get bird droppings or bugs, when a Glitz technician cleans the organic matter, it simply wipes off meaning that the surface won’t be marred by additional pressure in the removal process
Why get Glitz to do it when there are cheaper installers
The Glitz Unique Selling Proposition is that we prepare the vehicle for the coating more thoroughly than any other detailers as we not only thoroughly clean the vehicle, we completely decontaminate it both chemically and mechanically by de-ironise it and clay barring it.
Other detailers charge a lesser amount for applying coatings by cutting corners by not properly preparing the vehicles surface by not eradicating it of all contaminants. This means that the coating may look good initially but as it has not properly bonded with the clear coat, it has only partially bonded, it will degrade quite quickly.
We can ensure that our method gets the most value out of the coating.
Our process
- Thorough clean #Snow foam: we’ll firstly snow foam and pressure wash the car to remove physical debris
- Chemical decontamination #De-ironisation: we chemically decontaminate the car to ensure a safer subsequent clay bar process by removing iron fallout from brake discs and brake pads
- Mechanical decontamination #Clay bar: we then thoroughly clay bar the exterior to ensure that the panels are completely decontaminated and ready to be detailed
- Cut and polish #Buffing & polishing: we cut and polish the car to ensure all of the wash related scratches and marring has been removed and the clear coat is completely flat
- Remove polishes and oils #Panel preparation: we use products to remove the polishes, lubricants and oils added in the polishing stage
- Apply the coating #Apply the coating: we then apply the coating to the exterior of the vehicle as per the manufacturers instructions
Post installation maintenance
It is highly recommended that you have the Glitz team maintain the coating by us regularly washing the vehicle as we implement best practices when cleaning vehicles. If your dog has enjoyed being ferried around to the beach and park in your car but you’re over the dog hair, you can now relax as we will remove all of the dog hair.
