The Automotive Quarterly Detail is a cost-effective exterior car detailing service designed for routine vehicle maintenance or pre-sale preparation. It combines thorough washing, chemical decontamination, mechanical decontamination, light polishing and paint sealant application to produce a cleaner, smoother and glossier exterior.
This service is ideal for vehicles that have accumulated bonded road contamination but do not require extensive paint correction. It can be scheduled periodically to maintain your vehicle’s presentation or completed before advertising and photographing a car for sale.
A conventional car wash removes loose dirt from the exterior, but it may not remove iron particles, brake dust, industrial fallout, tar and other contaminants bonded to the paintwork. These deposits can make a freshly washed vehicle feel rough and prevent the finish from achieving its potential gloss.
The Quarterly Detail addresses this contamination using complementary chemical and mechanical treatments before lightly polishing and sealing the exterior.
The first decontamination stage uses our chemical decontamination treatment to target suitable ferrous particles embedded in the vehicle’s exterior.
Iron contamination commonly originates from brake dust, industrial fallout, road use and rail transport. As the particles oxidise, they may appear as tiny orange or brown spots, particularly on white and light-coloured paintwork.
A dedicated iron-removal product reacts with suitable ferrous deposits so they can be thoroughly rinsed from the vehicle. This reduces the need to scrub embedded particles from the clear coat.
Once the chemical stage has addressed suitable iron contamination, we perform mechanical clay-bar decontamination where appropriate.
Detailing clay physically lifts compatible bonded contaminants that remain after washing and chemical treatment. These may include embedded road grime, environmental fallout, overspray and other deposits that cause the paintwork to feel rough.
Combining chemical and mechanical decontamination creates a smoother, properly prepared surface for the light polishing and sealant stages that follow.
After decontamination, the exterior receives a light machine polish to improve gloss and refine the vehicle’s presentation. This stage helps enhance the paint’s reflective appearance and may reduce some very minor surface imperfections.
The Quarterly Detail is not an intensive paint-correction service. Noticeable swirl marks, scratches, oxidation or deeper defects may require a more comprehensive single-stage or multi-stage correction package.
Following the light polish, we apply a paint sealant to suitable exterior surfaces. The sealant enhances the freshly prepared finish, adds a layer of temporary protection and improves water beading.
Paint sealant can also make ordinary maintenance easier by reducing how readily dirt and water adhere to the protected surface. Its durability depends on vehicle use, storage, environmental exposure and the washing products and techniques used afterward.
Vehicles accumulate contamination through ordinary driving, outdoor parking, brake use and exposure to Sydney’s roads and environment. Periodic decontamination helps prevent this material from continuing to build up between more extensive details.
The service is particularly suitable for owners who regularly wash their vehicles but want professional attention several times a year to restore smoothness, gloss and exterior protection.
The Automotive Quarterly Detail can also be used as a cost-effective pre-sale exterior treatment. Smooth, glossy and carefully presented paintwork can create a stronger first impression in photographs and during buyer inspections.
Detailing cannot guarantee a particular valuation, sale price or how quickly a vehicle will sell. It can, however, help present the vehicle’s existing condition more effectively to prospective buyers.
This service is suitable for paintwork affected by ordinary environmental fallout and bonded contamination that would benefit from light gloss enhancement and sealant protection.
A different service may be more appropriate if the vehicle has:
We can assess the paint and recommend a suitable service based on its condition and the result you want to achieve.
Glitz Detailing brings a purpose-built mobile detailing studio to suitable homes and workplaces across our Sydney service areas.
Our setup includes an onboard water filtration system. Filtered water helps reduce the mineral residue that can produce visible water spots on paintwork and glass.
